When is registration open?
Online registration is open February 1st, 2026 until April 23rd, 2026.
What is the event schedule?
The daily schedule is available on the Schedule page.
Individual event schedules will be made available 1 -2 weeks before the competition.
What are the criteria for National Kungfu Team qualification?
An athlete must achieve a score of 8.0 or above in any event to qualify for the National Kungfu Team.
What are the All-around Grand Champion selection criteria?
Athletes must participate in at least 3 event categories: an empty hand routine, a long weapon, and a short or soft weapon. The division Grand Champion will be the competitor with the highest placement in 3 events. An athlete may compete in more than 3 events, and the highest placement in each category will be applied toward their Grand Champion standing.

What are the Grand Champion divisions?
An All-around Grand Champion will be selected from each competitor division. Divisions are segmented by each of:

Experience level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)

How can I purchase spectator tickets?
Spectator tickets are available online at Registration & Tickets. They will also be available for purchase at the door (cash only).
Do I need to print a paper ticket?
No. Either a paper or digital copy on a mobile device is sufficient.
What is the refund policy?
Due to the nature of event planning and resource allocation, we are unable to process refunds on competition registrations.
I made a mistake, how can I change my registration?
Please Contact Us right away to request a change. Changes made seven (7) or more days after registration may incur an administration fee.
No changes will be accepted after the registration deadline.
What events can be competed in?

Group Competition
What are the flexible and stiff weapon divisions?
Traditional Kungfu weapon form events are held in two variants:

Stiff weapons support their own weight and their forms are generally more deliberate.

Flexible weapons bend and "snap" and their forms are generally more acrobatic.
If you are unsure for which division to register, please consult your teacher.
What are the registration requirements?
The USA International Kungfu Championship is open to all practitioners of the martial arts willing to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the competition.
What are the age brackets?

A1: 4 - 6

A2: 7 - 8

A3: 9 - 11

B: 12 - 14

C: 15 - 17

What are the competition levels?

Beginners: up to two (2) years of experience

Intermediate: two (2) to four (4) years of experience

Advanced: four (4) or more years of experience
Each level will additionally be subdivided by age and gender.
Is there an all-around championship or winner?
Yes. Athletes may choose to register for Grand Champion consideration in addition to their Open Tournament or National Team Trials registration. See Rules for details.
Are there team or group events?
Yes! There is a single Group Competition category. Registration is independent from the Open Competition individual registration, see the Registration & Tickets page for options.
Are there sparring or Sanda events?
No. There will be no sparring (no-contact, light contact, full contact) or Sanda events.
When will the competition schedule be available?
The competition schedule will be available on this website one week before the competition date (by May 15th). All participants will be notified by email when the schedule is available.
When will the competition results be available?

Event and division results will be announced immediately upon completion.

Grand Champion winners will be announced during the closing ceremony.

Kungfu Team Trial results will be announced during the closing ceremony, with formal notification and certificates mailed after USA Wushu Kungfu Federation certification.

All results will be available on this website within one week after the closing ceremony.
